The project involved the design and implementation of temporary shoring for the installation of a DN 500 HDPE SDR11RC pipeline. The pipeline route was situated in the immediate vicinity of a single-story masonry building and passed beneath a single-track railway siding located on industrial premises.
For this task, a box shoring system was specified to support the vertical walls of the linear trench. Excavation Dimensions:
- Length: 29,00 m
- Width: 1,20 m
- Working depth: 2,40 m
The design process required a detailed analysis of the excavation’s impact on the adjacent structure (with the shoring positioned only 30 cm from a solid brick wall). It also accounted for lateral soil pressure and surcharge loads from an access road with active vehicle traffic, as well as loads from the active railway siding.
